Ashley Kang advised that we reach out to you regarding the upcoming Miss Syracuse and Miss Central New York Scholarship Competition on Saturday, February 26th at 5pm. This is the preliminary competition and 2 women will advance to compete at Miss New York, in hopes of becoming the next Miss America. As you may know, Syracuse University Alumni Vanessa Williams was the first Black Woman to win Miss America, and our hope is to discover another local woman to represent us on the big stage. We would love to work with Newhouse on a feature story and/or media project that will help us in capturing this 100th Year Celebration and connection to Miss America, as we are rebuilding our organization. Please let me know what the next steps are, and we look forward to hearing from you!
